For those of you who are new to our community, let me take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Kelli Anderson, a Mindset & Career Coach and the founder of Mindset Mamas. Let’s get one thing straight from the start. I don’t have a degree in psychology or certification for life coaching. Everything you see from me comes directly from two places—my experiences and my heart.

Kelli Anderson, Career and Mindset Coach, Founder of Mindset Mamas

A few years ago I was living in Phoenix with my husband and son. I had started my own business—a content marketing/copywriting company. I loved working for myself, but at times it felt lonely. I was used to working remotely with previous jobs, but always had a team of people around me. When you’re running the show (and no one is working for you yet) you spend a lot of time hanging out with yourself.

I joined a few Facebook groups with other people who were working for themselves. One of them featured two women—a business coach and a mindset coach. Honestly, I never imagined spending money on “coaching”. Do people really do that? It turns out, they do, and coaching is often the most important aspect of growing a business. I started working with this pair and began the journey to what I’m doing today.

As I was getting ready to work with my new mindset coach, I remember thinking, what is mindset? I quickly found out, as I began digging into, well, my mind.

What’s going on inside my head?

Do I believe I deserve to make a lot of money?

Where do I lack confidence?

What are my top strengths?

These were all questions I was asking myself daily. I was getting deep and making progress. My mindset work was helping me personally and professionally.

As I was in the middle of writing content for large and small clients, I enjoyed what I was doing, but felt something was missing. And since I was immersed in clarifying what I really wanted, I started letting my mind run wild.

At the same time, I was working on my own personal and professional development, I started helping a friend with hers. I absolutely LOVED guiding her toward making her own mindset shifts. Watching those ah-ha moments nearly every day fueled me to keep going. I remember her telling me I should really “do this for a living”.

How to know what you’re meant to be doing

Sure, I felt like I was at my best when I was serving others via their own mindset work, but I was knee-deep in building a content marketing business. I couldn’t make a change, now, could I? I remember my mindset coach asking me, “What’s your heart telling you?”. Uhhh, I don’t even know what that means, I thought!

Soon enough, I understood exactly what it meant. I started thinking about how lucky I was to have been exposed to this mindset work. However, I was only really afforded the opportunity because I was an entrepreneur. I considered all the other working moms that didn’t own a business. They probably didn’t have a clue about mindset work and how it can help overhaul your life.

So, on a whim, I listened to my heart and put a post up on my local Facebook Mom’s group. It was 10pm and I asked if anyone would be interested in working with me one-on-one to help make some mindset shifts.

Within 10 minutes I had several messages. Moms were craving this.

It was then I realized I was onto something. Moms needed an opportunity to grow and find themselves as they were raising their children. I started working with four women and completely transformed their way of thinking. By focusing time and energy on themselves, as a woman, they were all able to make significant progress towards living their dream life.

I soon realized I needed to get this stuff out to working moms everywhere and start a business that could impact thousands of working moms. That’s where Mindset Mamas came from.

Today, we are growing our social media following (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest) and have a platform to serve moms via our blog.

We help working moms find their purpose and a career they love through mindset, self-care, and career coaching.
